After completing a tour with Emilio Rojas, and numerous shows between Kansas, Texas, and Oklahoma from the success off his most recent project, Probable Flaws, Josh Sallee is back with his first release from his upcoming untitled project. The track is called “Saratoga” because it was the battle that is considered the turning point in the American Revolution in favor of the colonies in their pursuit of independence from Great Britain, whereas this is Josh’s turning point with his career by establishing his independence so to speak and understanding that it’s going to be a journey that will acquire many battle scars along the way which include the back and forth between self-doubt and self-confidence, understanding and trusting the people around him to fulfill their roles and duties to build towards the greater good and future of prosperity, and pursuing something purposeful and self-fulfilling in life. The wonderful people over at DJ Booth premiered it. They are a cornerstone in the movement to promote solid, up and coming artists and helping those artists get the platform they deserve, so I highly recommend checking them out frequently. Josh really shines on the high energy track produced by Stackz Beatz and clearly has a lot to say. One thing is for sure, OKC definitely has a solid prepared to represent them on his way to new experiences and whatever success comes with them. You can stream it below and click the download link to get it from DJ Booth as well as read their write up of the song. Enjoy the tune.

Meyhem Lauren feat. Action Bronson and Heems – Special Effects (Video)

This Queens rapper is new to me but I’m liking what he’s doing in this video for his song “Special Effects.” He reminds me of an Action Bronson but a lazier voice, which may be why Meyhem and Action have a few songs together. It also may be that they both like their fair share of Harry Fraud productions. Either way I’m messing with this guy heavy.

Lil Wayne – My Homies Still (Single Artwork)

Wait… what? I guess the riff wasn’t too deep between G.O.O.D. music and Lil’ Wayne because Weezy has recruited Big Sean to be on the first single of his next project I am Not a Human Being 2. Although you can be almost certain this song was set in stone way before the recent beef, it still speaks that things aren’t completely done between the two camps. And with a track name like this too? Just kind of weird.

On a side note, right before I wrote this post Weezy tweeted “Was going to the Thunder game but was denied by the team to be in their arena. Wow. Smh. Go Spurs!” It seems Weezy and camp are not high on anyone’s priority list right now.

Miss Florence Welch blesses us with the release of her new visuals, upon which I was left speechless. The video for “Spectrum” was directed by David LaChapelle and John Byrne. These two did a fantastic job. Check out the must-see video above.

Dewey Binns – Information Overload (prod. aDDLib)

One quick shout to the family over at Loud Cousins for premiering this jam. Now, that boy Dewey… Damn. The title pretty much sums up the feeling I get whenever I listen to a new track from the Binns. It’s just knowledge on top of wisdom on top of truth in copious amounts with little to no let up. I love it. I am very much looking forward to his new project with Blev, High Character. Word to aDDLib on the really nice beat he laid down for this who is also an extremely dope Oklahoma MC. There are a lot of bars here… So keep up and pay attention; it’s worth it.

A week ago Gray introduced you to a young new artist by the name of Mon. Now, Mon is back with a new track for your listening enjoyment. I really dig Mon’s smooth sound. I was completely caught off guard the first time I heard him. Mon has quickly became one of my favorite local artists. Peep this song and see if he doesn’t amaze you. Also, Mon will be performing at our Pairadime Music Summer Showcase at Kamp’s on June, 15th. Make sure you come check him and all the other fantastic local artists out. You can find more info on the event right here.
