I’ve been waiting for this one to drop for a cooool minute. Hyundai Veloster recently teamed up with the Grammys to bring you something completely new, pairing up 5 established producers (DJ Premiere, Mark Ronson, Skrillex, The Crystal Method, & Pretty Lights) with unlikely counterparts from a variety of genres. Some of it worked (Skrillex/ The Doors & DJ Premiere/ Nas/ Berklee Symphony Orchestra), some of it didn’t (Pretty Lights/ Ralph Stanley/ LeAnn Rimes was a complete disaster), but all in all it’s an amazing project. The film will be showing in select theaters Feb. 16 & 23rd but for now download the soundtrack complete with bonus remixes (see Pretty Lights COMPLETELY redeem himself). Well Karl Lagerfeld (creative director at Chanel and Fendi) took Kanye’s lead and took notice of Ms. Banks, so much that he asked her to perform at his house for a party. The Toronto group BADBADNOTGOOD have risen in popularity largely due to their relationship with Wolf Haley. However, the jazz fusionists have an impressive catalog all their own. Check the group in the studio with Tyler doing the best rendition of ‘Lemonade’ by Gucci Mane I’ve ever seen outside of Beach House. Tyler from 2:50 – 3:25 = classic.
