Here at Pairadime we believe in showcasing really good talent, not only from Oklahoma, but from all over the U.S. – especially if they are independent. Today, DJ Scream and LiveMixtapes.com bring us Scotty‘s sophomore project The Jiffy Cornbread Experience. To download the project and read more click the link.
The mixtape was completely produced by Prolyfic and Soundtrakk who did a bulk of the production on Lupe Fiasco‘s Food and Liquor and also produced “Superstar.”
Part of the “new school” of artists bringing originality, substance and real entertainment to the industry, Atlanta, GA based artist, Scotty is clearly defining his own space in the game. Raised by a single mother, life wasn’t always easy for the budding superstar; however, the sounds of Outkast, 8-Ball & MJG, UGK and many other artists inspired him and helped to channel his energy into music. Scotty immediately turned that instant love of hip-hop into an aspiring career of his own.
In 2010, Scotty launched his own label, Presidential Music, where his creativity blossomed, he was able to explore, develop and perfect his unique, laid back style of rap. His wide range of lyrical content comes from his experiences in the streets, being an entrepreneur and everything in between. His sound is infused with soulfully inspired music (much of it live instrumentation, along with bass heavy tracks that the ATL is known for).
“My songs are very personal to me. I don’t just get hot tracks and throw hot hooks and verses together. I have real life stories to tell…I’m a storyteller through my music.”
Scotty has recently received accolades from many industry outlets. Including being nominated for Best Unsigned Artist and Community Outreach Award for the Atlanta Urban Music Awards 2011. Scotty gained wide-spread attention and a huge fan base at events such as the BET Atlanta Step Show, BET Car & Bike Show in Chapel Hill, NC and the Source Magazine Car & Bike Show. He has performed with Waka Flocka, Roscoe Dash, Dondria,Outkast, Pastor Troy, Gorilla Zoe, Jody Breeze, Boyz in da Hood, Lyfe Jennings and Omarion just to name a few.
DJ Burn One who is widely known for accelerating the careers of Gucci Mane, Freddie Gibbs, Pill and Yelawolf was the featured producer on Scotty’s first project Summer Dreams and says, “Scotty definitely has what it takes to be ATL’s next superstar!”
He is entertaining, yet humble; a hustler who’s all about business. The man, the music, the voice…whichever you get to know first, understand that this is as real as it gets. All that’s left to do is to open your ears, crank up your radio, and prepare yourself for the Future of the South, Scotty.
