Cole blesses us once again with a new track. He dropped this in honor of achieving 2 million followers on twitter. He is making mad progress. Did I mention this is a freestyle? If you’re not apart of the Cole World fan base, then I think it’s about time to get with it.
The good folks over at 3 Little Digs put together the visual treatment for Oklahoma’s and G.O.O.D. Music’s own Tony Williams. This is the title track off of his most recent project. You will recognize some cameos such as Mickey Factz, GLC, Donnis, Sean Faylon, Kyle Lucas and more.
My good friend and talented MC from OKC’s Puzzle People, Ronnie Harris, asked me to put this project up for him. It’s very special to him and really holds a lot of value and ties to someone that was near and dear to his heart and was a beautiful musician herself, Ashlee Madison. You’ll see his description below, then a link to get it. Support my man on such a well crafted and moving project of instrumentals. Ronnie had this to say:
Ashlee T Madison the Great Jr. She passed away Saturday morning, April 17, 2010 as the result of an automobile accident in Oklahoma City. Ashlee was reared in Norman, attended Norman Public Schools, graduated Norman North High School in 2004. She enrolled at the University of Oklahoma, obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in African American Studies in Fall 2009. At the time of her death she was enrolled in the Graduate Program at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond,
OK pursuing a Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies. Ashlee was a dynamic individual, who commanded an audience at an early age. From the time she was a child, she was always looking for an audience, often finding one and entertaining them for hours. Her kindred spirit continued throughout her life, allowing her to perform in front of large crowds. She appeared in a major motion picture, enjoyed modeling, song writing, painting, and photography. When she wasn’t performing, Ashlee enjoyed helping and giving to others. She was an environmentalist, often raising concern for the well being of planet earth. Ashlee was particularly fond of rivers, streams and enjoyed taking long walks experiencing mother nature.
I love hearing new things from Big K.R.I.T. and this track is no different. K.R.I.T. raps over the fabulous Just Blaze produced beat of “Lord Knows” for his second part of his “King” freestyle. To me, K.R.I.T. is one of the most down to earth artists on the come up during this time. The realness of his lyricism is out of this world. I think that and his smooth southern sound is exactly what draws people into him. Be on the lookout for K.R.I.T.’s newest project, 4 Eva N A Day, which is set to drop on February 20th.
Allow me to introduce you to Tory Lanez. Mr. Lanez is an artist you should become familiar with. “When You’re Comfortable” is the exact track that made me realize how stupendous he really is. On “When You’re Comfortable”, Tory beat boxes the entire beat and then goes back and raps over it. I was blown away by that song. “Say Hello” is another superb track from him. Tory kills both the rapping and singing. “Say Hello” is a feel good track that must be played loud. If you are into these tracks go ahead and cop his latest project, Swavey. I guarantee this will not be the last you hear of this Canadian native.
If you’ve got 10 minutes to spare I highly recommend checking out this short film of Skrillex’s Mothership Tour. The film documents all the aspects of the tour, including all that went into the ridiculous on-stage production that is “The Cell” (Forreal, the motion capture suit is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen). You’ll also get to see some skate footage from their downtime where Skrillex sticks about 6 flawless heelflips. All in all, great documentary from the biggest name in EDM.
Well damn.. Dr. Digital and Myke Breezy are not playing around with this one right here. This is definitely some off the cuff, hide the wife and children type shit. Be on the look out for more collaborations from the Double R and the Texas Twister soon.
Bangladesh remains a beast forever on the boards and God knows I’ve needed some E-40 in my life. He grabs two of the most ridiculous people I can think of to complete this trio of enjoyable spitters. Juicy J will forever be a legend to me and 2 Chainz has been on EVERYTHING as of late, so why not this? Check out the jam below.
On Friday, Of Monsters and Men premiered the visuals for the track “Little Talks”, from their 2011 breakthrough EP Into The Woods. This was one of my favorite songs from an Indie band last year, and the music video is an amazing CGI spectacle that in my opinion completely drives home the song’s overall theme of overcoming the struggle. Look for the Icelandic sextet to drop their debut full-length My Head Is An Animal on April 3 through Universal Republic Records
We showed you a clip a little while back of Kendrick performing “Look Out For Detox” with a fan named Kyle who absolutely kills the song. Same people. Same state. Different City (San Antonio). Just as awesome.
