Ndeluv produced and recorded this entire project himself. There is something so captivating about Ndeluv’s voice. Check out the refreshing sound of Ndeluv by downloading #8911 below. If you like what you hear on #8911 then you can download his last project, #hoodmusic, right here.
I was originally put on to the Harlem-based artist iFFY The Bad Man through Tumblr. This EP, Lover By Day, Thief At Night, shows iFFY The Bad Man’s transition from hip-hop to rock/soul. The EP has a sense of timelessness to it that makes the music hard to stop listening to. Download and tracklist after the jump. Continue reading »
The homies over at KN just shot over this instrumental tape called In Transit by the super talented maticulous. Maticulous definitely sticks with a classic hip hop vibe accompanied with a soulful interpretation. Download and Tracklist after the jump.
Another dope spitter from OKC, Tom Tucker, dropped his solo project yesterday. You may recognize him from being in GLC The Team. This project is pretty damn nice and shows that he’s in a higher class than some of the pretend MCs around the city. I can actually tell this rap stuff means a lot to him. My homie Beetyman damn near steals the show on his features though. Frank Black continues to amaze me every time I hear him; he might be one of the most underrated dudes in the city. Word to the other half of GLC, Cudd for doing work on this tape as well. Genuinely pleased with this product out of OKC because it’s head and shoulders over half the stuff we get sent daily. Keep up the good work guys and keep an eye out for The Team. Oh, and it would be an absolute travesty if I didn’t give a nod to my man Studda Budda for holding it down as well. Enjoy the tape everyone.
This has been long overdue and an absolute travesty that I didn’t get this material posted within seconds of it dropping, but it’s better late than never and you’ll understand why after jamming the material. You may recognize Dewey Binns from 8Bit Cynics regional fame. You may recognize him from being on Josh Sallee’s first two projects. You may not recognize him at all. None of that really matters… What matters? This man’s music. I think he is someone that at the end of the day has more respect in the scene than anyone I’ve ever met and he has the lyrics, passion, and rhyme schemes to be a permanent voice of Oklahoma. There are few artists that happen to drop my jaw when jamming their material for the first time. I happen to work with a couple of them, and Dewey is another to be added to that jawdropping talent level. I want everyone on this post to LISTEN to what the man is saying. It’s entertaining; witty; he’s not trying to go over anyone’s head but if you sleep you may miss the most clever line you’ve heard in your life; and the dude flat out can rap his ass off. I got a chance to catch up with him the other day and he’s as genuine as a person as can be. I’m posting two projects here from him that need your attention.
The first is his album, Hunger Pains. It was produced entirely by Puzzle People member Ronnie Harris and presented by the good folks over at Loud Cousins. The album is essentially the transition from 8Bit Cynics to Dewey as solo artist. He elaborates on it a touch more and it is available at “name-your-price” right here, and I highly recommend checking it out. Very well done.
The next project I would like you all to check out from him that he just dropped this past week, Hotel Nompton. He recorded it with Phoenix MC, medafORACLE, in a hotel in Norman over a weekend. They both are great MCs that make listening to HipHop highly enjoyable. Dewey is just putting out a plethora of exremeley high quality music, and I recommend you getting your free download on below.
Also, catch Dewey with Beetyman, Myke Brown, Roosh Williams, and Josh Sallee at our NMF Show at The Garage in Norman on Saturday the 28th at 9:30 p.m. Keep up with him on Twitter right here. You’re going to see of more Pairadime x Dewey. Believe it.
One time, I’ma tell you how it is… If you recognize that quote from Josh’s single “Ride Out”, then you’re every bit as jacked up for this release as we are. Josh Salleeis here with his project,Probable Flaws. My dude Blev killed a ton of the production as did BrainGang Blueon the track “UpperDownerHolic”. There are two features; Joey Cool from Kansas City and my dude Roosh Williamsover a solid track produced by Agent Orange. By solid track, I mean it might be my favorite one of them all. I’m certainly a fan of “Like Girl, Like Guy” and “Ew”.
I’ve gotten to be around for most of the project being made and I could not be more hype for my guy here. Josh has worked extremely hard and come a long way since the incredibly self-analyzing and transition album that was Return To Sender. This project is beaming with pride and confidence after putting a year of hard work in at an unrelenting pace. Josh is back with a better command of life, his music, and his message he plans to send out. From the beginning track which is the title track of the album, you’ll pick up right away you’re in for a hell of an album. I think Josh is an incredible representative and ambassador for our state musically and he has the drive to gain OKC serious, national recognition. He is someone I believe in a great deal and I feel like after giving this project a solid listen, you will too.
I’ve been lowkey excited about this one for a minute- Zed’s Dead just released their collaboration with fellow Toronto native Omar Linx to bring you Victor, a 7-track EP featuring Omar’s raps over some of their popular tracks (as well as a few new dope beats). It’s definitely worth the (FREE) download. Check out a few songs below and grab the free download HERE.
Finally! Queens own Action Bronson drops his first project of 2012 and I couldn’t be more excited. This dude is undeniable as a rapper and just a wonderful MC. I think he is someone for NYC to be extremely proud of and get behind because of how he captures so many different elements of HipHop. He teamed up with Party Supplies who produced the whole project. I personally can’t stop watching the video to “Hookers At The Point”, so I know I’ll be spinning this all the way down to Austin for SXSW multiple times. Speaking of SXSW… Make sure you come check out Bronsalino at our South By Nice Kicks Showcase we have on Thursday from 2-6:30. Help support us by copping the exclusive event T-Shirt that can be found here. Anyway, Enjoy the project and get it below.
Really proud to be bringing you guys this one. We were lucky enough to be there for Purple Mouth Bandits’ first show ever, and have been riding with the dudes ever since. When we first met the homie Ryan he was only 19 and barely old enough to get into the spots he was performing at…Today Ryan celebrates his 21st birthday by releasing his solo debut, Dr. Digital, which you really won’t want to miss. The project boasts beast-like production from Big Eazy, StarrForce, and Dr. Digital himself, as well as some dope features from the Q-Squad (Myke Brown, N-Dex, Wildcat, Methotrexate, & Roosh Williams to name a few). There’s really not enough words to describe how excited we are for the guy, so why don’t you just download the album and let the music speak for itself… And if you still haven’t watched the music video for “Skid Mark”, GET ON THAT NOW. Stream a few of our favorites after the jump!
My good friend and talented MC from OKC’s Puzzle People, Ronnie Harris, asked me to put this project up for him. It’s very special to him and really holds a lot of value and ties to someone that was near and dear to his heart and was a beautiful musician herself, Ashlee Madison. You’ll see his description below, then a link to get it. Support my man on such a well crafted and moving project of instrumentals. Ronnie had this to say:
Ashlee T Madison the Great Jr. She passed away Saturday morning, April 17, 2010 as the result of an automobile accident in Oklahoma City. Ashlee was reared in Norman, attended Norman Public Schools, graduated Norman North High School in 2004. She enrolled at the University of Oklahoma, obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in African American Studies in Fall 2009. At the time of her death she was enrolled in the Graduate Program at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond,
OK pursuing a Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies. Ashlee was a dynamic individual, who commanded an audience at an early age. From the time she was a child, she was always looking for an audience, often finding one and entertaining them for hours. Her kindred spirit continued throughout her life, allowing her to perform in front of large crowds. She appeared in a major motion picture, enjoyed modeling, song writing, painting, and photography. When she wasn’t performing, Ashlee enjoyed helping and giving to others. She was an environmentalist, often raising concern for the well being of planet earth. Ashlee was particularly fond of rivers, streams and enjoyed taking long walks experiencing mother nature.
