This has been long overdue and an absolute travesty that I didn’t get this material posted within seconds of it dropping, but it’s better late than never and you’ll understand why after jamming the material. You may recognize Dewey Binns from 8Bit Cynics regional fame. You may recognize him from being on Josh Sallee’s first two projects. You may not recognize him at all. None of that really matters… What matters? This man’s music. I think he is someone that at the end of the day has more respect in the scene than anyone I’ve ever met and he has the lyrics, passion, and rhyme schemes to be a permanent voice of Oklahoma. There are few artists that happen to drop my jaw when jamming their material for the first time. I happen to work with a couple of them, and Dewey is another to be added to that jawdropping talent level. I want everyone on this post to LISTEN to what the man is saying. It’s entertaining; witty; he’s not trying to go over anyone’s head but if you sleep you may miss the most clever line you’ve heard in your life; and the dude flat out can rap his ass off. I got a chance to catch up with him the other day and he’s as genuine as a person as can be. I’m posting two projects here from him that need your attention.
The first is his album, Hunger Pains. It was produced entirely by Puzzle People member Ronnie Harris and presented by the good folks over at Loud Cousins. The album is essentially the transition from 8Bit Cynics to Dewey as solo artist. He elaborates on it a touch more and it is available at “name-your-price” right here, and I highly recommend checking it out. Very well done.
The next project I would like you all to check out from him that he just dropped this past week, Hotel Nompton. He recorded it with Phoenix MC, medafORACLE, in a hotel in Norman over a weekend. They both are great MCs that make listening to HipHop highly enjoyable. Dewey is just putting out a plethora of exremeley high quality music, and I recommend you getting your free download on below.
Also, catch Dewey with Beetyman, Myke Brown, Roosh Williams, and Josh Sallee at our NMF Show at The Garage in Norman on Saturday the 28th at 9:30 p.m. Keep up with him on Twitter right here. You’re going to see of more Pairadime x Dewey. Believe it.
