You may recognize Chase Compton’s name from opening up for our homie Josh Sallee’s birthday rager last month. The young dude is from Lawrence and recently dropped his project, Midnight Music. I have been jamming the intro, “Young King” (which you’ll find below. Gray Luh da kids). The production on this is solid and I’m genuinely impressed with the kid’s flow. I’ve been waiting for this one to drop for a cooool minute. Hyundai Veloster recently teamed up with the Grammys to bring you something completely new, pairing up 5 established producers (DJ Premiere, Mark Ronson, Skrillex, The Crystal Method, & Pretty Lights) with unlikely counterparts from a variety of genres. Some of it worked (Skrillex/ The Doors & DJ Premiere/ Nas/ Berklee Symphony Orchestra), some of it didn’t (Pretty Lights/ Ralph Stanley/ LeAnn Rimes was a complete disaster), but all in all it’s an amazing project. The film will be showing in select theaters Feb. 16 & 23rd but for now download the soundtrack complete with bonus remixes (see Pretty Lights COMPLETELY redeem himself). My dude Roosh Williams dropped the visuals for his track “Royal Rumble” last night on Day and A Dream. The track is from his album, Common Struggles Of A Modern Man, that you can get here. If you’re familiar with Roosh or his music, you’re aware that he tends to be a bit beyond goofy at times. That accompanied with his undeniable talent makes him a true character and a bit of an enigma as a person in general. But this video shot by Iridium Entertainment is fantastic on all those levels. You get a glimpse of a day in the life of Roosh and his sick ATX treehouse pad. I have always loved the beat on this track that was produced by Stompboxx Music. Roosh is hard at work in the studio working on his next project to be released in October, so in the mean time, enjoy the vid.

This is the promo video for Beetyman’s upcoming album, The Underdog, which drops this Saturday. You can go catch Beetyman’s release party the same day at Kamps. The video was shot by Jimi Wonder and edited by our friends over at GRP FLY. I know dude put a lot of hard work into this debut solo album, and since I’ve had the pleasure of jamming it for the past week, I’m very pleased to co-sign the quality of work put forth here.
