XV is prepping for his next mixtape, Popular Culture, which is due out June 15th. So to build some hype he released this cool little trailer. I’ve also heard through the grapevine that Schoolboy Q will have a feature on the tape as well. YES.

Recently, I had a chance to sit down with Witchita, Kansas, born rapper, Donovan Johnson, better known as XV. “The kid with the green backpack”, who created a buzz strictly through his own hustle, opened up about on an array of topics including: his Kansas upbringing, his taste in music and production, how he first met DJ Enuff and future endeavors.
XV took some time off from the touring to give “Quickie” by Miguel a twist on this fitting day.

I am digging everything about this track. XV is great. I love the smoothness and the chill vibe this is bringing. Someone tell me why he doesn’t have a bigger fan base. Definitely adding this one to my chill playlist. Too good to pass up.

Oklahoma’s Jabee links up again with Kansas native and Warner Brothers signee, XV, for the remix to Jabee’s song “Beautiful Day”. I got to hear this the other day when Jabee played it for some of us at Caoboy x Sammiches‘ new crib and really dug it. This beat is pretty fantastic as per usual when Seven gets behind it. This is a really dope look and another great song from the homie Jabee. Check it out below.
